There are currently four museums open to the public in Debabarrena. They are invariably small musems showing how certain towns have interacted with an element that is intrinsically linked to its history.
The influence of the sea on Mutriku, industrial development in Eibar and linked production of machine-tool in Elgoibar or agriculture on Lastur have left an indelible mark on the character of these places.
These museums attempt to portray these bonds, though it is in the streets of these towns and villages that the real museum can be found.
So take your time and on leaving each museum, have a wander round the streets and discover the real museum.
