The Machine Tool Museum pays tribute to the iron workers, smiths and craftsmen of Elgoibar, who opened the furrow and founded the iron industry that, now as before, absorbs the labor activity of our people, having currently reached high levels recognized by all.
With its facilities and machines in operation, it presents uniquely manufacturing procedures, technical descriptions and practical examples with real machining operations. In addition, the Museum serves as a didactic guide to show young generations the origin and evolution of the different technologies used in mechanical manufacturing processes.
Responding to the desire to remember our industrial history, as well as the men and women who lived it and starred in it, on 12/18/98 the Machine Tool Museum of Elgoibar was inaugurated. Our hope has always been to recover and preserve the heritage related to machine tools, in order to present and transmit this knowledge to present and future generations.
